DEXTER - Dexter's 5th Annual Winter Festival not only had great weather, but also a great turnout for all events. On Saturday, the Wassookeag Snowmobile Club radar runs, DRDC business Gift Basket Give-A-Way, North Country Riding Club horse-drawn sled rides, public dance and fireworks, there seemed to be a near record turnout.
The Snow Sculpture contest had 10 entries, 4 school, 4 business/organization and 2 family. The results were announced at the Wassookeag Snowmobile dance held at the K of C Hall and are as follows:

- First Place - Judy Craig Consulting with a Hawaii Vacation Theme

- Second Place - Dexter Lumber with a tanning Pink Panther (Trophy
& $50)
- Third Place - Girl Scout Troup with cooking smores theme (Trophy)
- Fourth Place - Ripley Trail Riders with a bright yellow sun

- First Place - Calhoun Family gone fishing (Trophy & $75)
- Second Place - Costonis Family with a sand castle (Trophy & $50)
School Category
- First Place - Class of 2005 with Garfield (Trophy & $100)
- Second Place - Class of 2006 with Finding Nemo (Trophy & $75)
- Third Place - Class of 2008 with Mickey Mouse (Trophy & $50)
